Why Wing Chun uses a mannequin in wood

Perhaps the thing that makes the Wing Chun, one of the most unique martial arts is the wooden dummy that is used by students. Most other martial arts (and other styles of fighting such as Western boxing) use heavy bags (also called punchbags) as the primary tool for training to develop power. Heavy bag usually weighs between 50-100 pounds and is dense and yet still mild, and the student can deliver strikes it and the wire of time to accumulate power in the arms, legs and joints. A mannequin in wood, on the other hand, is made of wood (although some are PVC), is approximately 5' tall and between 8.5 and 9.5 "in diameter and three 12" arm sticking it to simulate the arms of the opponent. This allows the student to practice to block the attacks of the opponent while also providing strikes the body of the manikin.

Wing Chun kung fu techniques specifically suited to the use of a mannequin in wood. For example, many of the techniques involve simultaneous blocking and deletion. Such a technique is called "tan da" and consists of a "sao tan" (block with the extended forearm and the palm facing upwards) with one arm and punched vertical with the other arm carried out at the same time. The "sao tan" deflects attack the opponent, while simultaneously punch strikes the opponent.

This type of technique can be formed on a mannequin in wood. The student must face the dummy and provides a "tan sao" block against one of higher artificial arms while running a punch to the body of the model at the same time. Since the model is made of wood, the "sao tan" is practiced against a hard surface similar to the arm of the opponent. It is superior to the practice simply blocks in the air, as many other styles. In this way, it conditions the student physically and mentally to know what to expect during the execution of the technique in a real confrontation. In fact, the failure to do so is one of the reasons why the same training in martial arts are sometimes overwhelmed in actual combat. Even if a person operates a technique for several years, if they made only this technique "in the air" and not really against something that resists them, as a training partner or a mannequin in wood, then when the time comes to do it for real, they are not to know what to expect and will likely be surpries when they encounter resistance. It can be compared to a person of learning of baseball with a scouring Ball and the bat plastic, and then when they play their first game of baseball for real, they must use a wooden stick and a real baseball. Even if they know the technique of swinging a bat and hit a ball, it will be significantly different for them and probably distract enough them that they lose their attention.

You are thinking about MMA?

Starting with MMA and BJJ

It seems a shame to think y are interested people learn more about the MMA BJJ or even getting started taking it, but be wary of doing so. There seems to be a common misconception that blends martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is just for men who want to compete in the ring. Fortunately, this myth begins to lose its merit, but not quickly enough.

It is important to understand that MMA and BJJ (as well as Muay Thai and CrossFit) not just for men in their twenties who want to be at the level of competition, even if it is welcome, too. Anyone can start regardless of gender, age, size or current fitness level. Remember, even men and women who are at the level competition now had to start somewhere.

Why start?

If you have already had a remote interest in any form of martial arts, it is something that you must continue. But, if you need more convincing than that, you should be aware of some benefits of mixed martial arts and BJJ. This course is a great form of fitness. It is an activity that includes cardiovascular work of total body conditioning. Better yet, it provides a type of workout with that you are less likely to get bored.

Apart from this, how many other "training routines" know you that can also help you to learn a method of self-defense? For this reason, MMA and BJJ is also a confidence builder. Without forgetting to mention that you will earn coordination, endurance, strength, relieve stress, have more energy and be able to sleep better. There is still some of the most common benefits of this type of training.

How to start?

To begin, it is also easy to find a school met with professional instructors. This could be for you, your child or your entire family. MMA children turns out to also be a builder of self-esteem, and help with the discipline and respect.

When you search for a school, the best feedback is usually the way to go. Schools which have built a name for themselves did so with good reason. Some academies of martial arts developed in place without real job training and dedication to the martial arts. Look for those who are the athletes of the competition, even if you do not want to compete you.

Where to go?

What should examine your strength of Judo and the formation of packaging as

It is very important that the training sessions that you fill in the gym are beneficial to improve your overall Judo game. If you complete the training sessions that are not written to Judo, you find that your success on the mat will be somewhat limited!

In simple terms, if you want to get success on the carpet, that you train you as a Judoka.

Not a body builder and not a power switch; But a JUDO player.

All my years as an international competitor I watched needs a fitness and conditioning Judoka and have programmed my drives depending on what elements are needed.

These vital elements include:

Anaerobic threshold:

Your anaerobic threshold is simply the body of your ability to perform at a high intensity before the appearance of lactic acid.

Aerobic capacity:

The ability to recover between "matte" and provide muscle to work with oxygen leads to removal of lactic acid.

Body high speed:

Is essential in the handful of fighting (kata kumi) and your opponent off balancing (kuzushi) traction.

Low speed of body:

And the breakdown of the balance of your opponents, your entry speed is crucial to the success of the launch. Speed of lower body is a must in all training sessions.

Agility:

Agility is necessary to avoid attacks and if necessary, to escape attacks to avoid raising for Ippon.

Coordination:

Coordination is a huge part of Judo. You must be able to know where your body is positioned to attack, defend, and quickly adjust techniques.

The upper part of the body force and power:

Need to break your grip of opponents once they seized your IM while being able to explode pins (Osaekomi-waza).

Lower body strength and the power:

Lower body and the power is crucial in almost all shots of Judo. Technical as Seoi swimming and O Goshi require you to explode upwards and forwards a squat or half position crouched to complete the technique.

Force rotation:

Almost all shots of Judo require that you rotate to complete the technique. It is essential that all Judokas have the force of rotation to complete the pleas and cross resistance, that you may encounter for the defence of your opponents.

Force Base:

Core force is essential for a number of reasons. It protect your spine injury, transfer force from the bottom of the upper body to body, as well as help your balance.

Force feedback:

Force back is crucial to stand and fight with great posture. A strong return will be stopping your opponent pulling your head down as well as help you get your opponent off-balance sheet.

Power of hip:

Power hip is vital to defend the shots. In addition to the defence, your hips will help you generate much energy during launch and escape from pins.

Concentration:

The concentration is required by each Judoka in each training session the randori and competition. As a training session or of the continuous struggle and you become tired, you not just physically stop working, but you start mentally to make bad decisions. You are the fitter and oxygen you have in your body, you can better focus. The result is that do you better, faster decisions in competition.

Mobility:

Mobility and joint stability is of great importance for all Judokas. Be mobile and flexible greatly help you in many areas of your Judo. It will help you escape techniques, and the increase in the range of your radical leg which is excellent for throws Uchimata, Tai Otoshi and Osoto Gari. Being mobile help also in the prevention of injuries.

In collaboration with stability: keeping these flexible joints you stable joints that will help when throwing your opponent. For example while performing a polychaetes Goshi or Uchimata, having stable ankles and knees will greatly improve your chances of maintaining the balance and to launch your opponent for a score. Joint stability is also important to reduce the risk of injury in training or competition.

Balance: Balance is a fundamental aspect of Judo. Judo was designed to be a set of imbalance created your opponent using a variety of techniques. It is therefore essential that the balance is always a serious part of all training of Judokas.

If your drives target some, but not all of the above I think you should re-program your sessions of training accordingly or talk to your coach and ask them to look over your current gym program.

Zen of Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan to Pa Kua Chang To Wake Up!

It was Gurdjieff who claimed that the man is walking around asleep, thought that he is awake. It is noted in the old Chinese story of the man who dreamed that he was a butterfly and he wondered if it really was a butterfly dreaming he was a man. It is the essence of the stages when it tries to Yoga to Martial Arts.

There is a progression of the State of sleep state awakened in this ranking of the discipline of the body. Unfortunately, people do not really appreciate this progression, or, at best, it became mired in one of the stages of progression and never really awake. It should never be satisfied with a single discipline... one should investigate the various steps fully to fully awaken.

Zen meditation, it becomes aware of the fact that they are. Simply assumed a posture in the same place, tend only to what the world can grow on them (very little while sitting) and the fantasies of their spirit. As time ticks, however, fantasies become less interesting, and there is awareness of what is hidden by the fantasies... reality.

Yoga is a good step, it adjusts a man to a variety of positions and adjustments. Must understand that as one explores the potential of the body, is studied their vision of the universe. Yes, you can clean your kidney, but your vision of what is real is that becomes unimpeded.

-Yoga, I am offering this sense sequence reverse here, I generally prefer to go with a difficult art such as karate, but the progress I am offering ready for this change - Tai Chi Chuan would be a wonderful stage. Tai Chi Chuan is not a request, it is more than a request and visions wonderous of Zen and Yoga will slowly take shape and energies begin to move. The vast expanse of the universe that is at the heart of each human being begins to move like a locomotive gargantuate.

After the Tai Chi Chuan, it could be another form of Arts martial Wudan as Pa Kua Chang. It would be more motion, other ways to visit your vision on the world, other ways to extend your gasoline through the potentials of the query. Should achieve, at this time, they are a vision; behind the large space that is there is a point of view of all: there is you, the I am.

Continuing our progress, Shaolin Kung Fu lists his head let's. Now the motion become more rapid, preferable, but any security is the vision behind the large space. Now we're like wine sparkling in the night, the geometry drawing arcs to illuminate the world.

And, we can continue our journey through a variety of martial arts, well beyond the simple desire to kill later in the glorious essence of ourselves: I ams of the universe. Note, as I said before, this progression is a little backwards, usually people who are old will attempt this route for their bodies are sedentary. But, young or old, we can all wake up: our body is the universe; We are the I ams; There is a life to discover.

What is your next step?

Why good Keikogi is necessary and the Importance of taking care of it

Karate is a martial art that requires self-discipline and pride, so uniform that is a person can speak volumes about their attitude to art. Then, how a person will keep their IM own tip-top?

IM is a dear uniform and must be kept a brilliant white color and erase any folds or marks. As most of the uniforms is made of cotton, they have a tendency to discolour fairly easily. It is normally due to the sweat that cotton absorbs during training. In addition, uniforms become heavier when using the sweat and tears and tears along couture can sometimes occur.

The most effective way to ensure that IM lasts as long as possible is to wash it once it has been used. This will prevent any sweat into the cotton. The IM should be washed only with the other white, as it will minimize fading of the material. Powerful detergent should be used when washing as sweat can stain quite easily, especially in the regions of the armpit and groin.

Once the wash cycle has completed, the IM should be dried on the washing line or, if it rains, the Interior on a horse of clothing in front of a radiator, but not on the radiator directly. This is because the driest fall or direct heat from a radiator, can cause the material to shrink and out of shape. When the IM is completely dry, and this objective should be achieved as quickly as possible, it should be folded.

If it was dried as quickly as possible, that it should not be many folds on IM and it is a good thing that ironing should be avoided, unless absolutely necessary. This is because the heat from the iron can damage equipment if applied too often.

IM folding is important to avoid creases and this process is relatively simple. The jacket can be folded as any other shirt would be, by folding one side more, followed by the other party and then the sleeves. The pants should be folded by placing all legs and fold in thirds to make a small beam, about a third of the length of the pants.

Obviously, the belt must not be washed with IM, unless it is a white belt. Ideally, the belt should be hand washed and left to dry on the washing line. The belt can be straightened and attached around the pants during the folding process.

A point to remember when to take care of the IM is not step to use bleach, even if this will make the material appear to be white, properties of bleach damage actually material and IM last not so long that he must do.

The quality of the belt will determine the length of time that it will last. The best type of belt to buy is a bend which is woven double, because it withstand more rigorous when it comes to washing, and attaching. The uniform will have the best chance for lasting for a period of reasonable time, if these steps are followed and if no Couture becomes loose or Frays, then this should be addressed as soon as possible.

The fray on IM most common areas are the area of the groin of the pants and under the arms in the jacket. It is because the movements that occur in the art of karate. The seams of the equipment are generally white and as such white cotton should only be used to repair damaged couture. Sewing quality will depend on the quality of the garment as a whole, and the general rule is that the more expensive clothing, the better the quality.

When choosing which clothing to buy, it is important to recognize that there are a number of different qualities available IM. If someone is just starting and then a garment to average price should be sufficient, the fineness of the competitor should be established before large amounts of money on clothes custom that can be very expensive.

Similarly, if the purchase of clothing for children, it is important to remember that children grow as they age. Children's clothing are no more good markets, but it is probably investing in one of the cheaper, bearing in mind that they must replace regularly because of their growth.

Once it was established that the person taking part in the martial art is serious about it, it may be useful to invest in more than one IM, though a belt of quality at the time should be sufficient. Similarly, beginners should use the lighter Keikogi and these followers most art must opt for a more heavy option, as the noise of heavy equipment in competitions is impressive of judges and other competitors.

When you purchase a karate uniform, or speaking to experts on karate, it may be useful to know a few good words regularly. IM is divided into three parts; jacket, trousers and belt. The jacket is sometimes called the uwagi, pants are known as zupan and the belt can be called the obi. Other useful karate terms that may be useful are dojo: Karate training area; and another: a practitioner of karate.

Part of the uniform which is not often mentioned is the human part. This generally includes the hands and feet. These are kept naked at all times in karate and should also be kept as clean as possible. The fact that your feet are going to be around other people. Therefore during training or competition should mean that they are as presentable as IM of karate, by adhering to this, self-discipline and pride will be recognized.

Wing Chun dummy wooden vs. heavy bag

Almost every martial artist or hunting is familiar with a heavy bag (sometimes also called a punching bag). Even people who are not experts in martial arts or boxers always know what is a heavy bag; they are either seen on television, in the gym or hanging from a beam in the garage or basement of a person.

But there is a training device far less commonly known that step of many martial artists are: Wing Chun wooden dummy. A mannequin in wood is a wood pole which is between 8.5 and 9.5 "in diameter and was coming out, and a wooden leg, out of the bottom three 12" arm. Dummy arm and legs simulate an attacker arm or leg and to the student of Wing Chun put into practice his techniques against them, with force, without prejudice to another student.

Given that these two are used to develop the power and martial arts techniques, let's have a look at some of the similarities and differences of:

Development of energy - the two pieces of equipment will leave the student begin to develop more power over time. When a beginner to weigh a heavy bag, her wrists can loop because they do not serve in the force of impact. A similar thing could happen the first time that someone weighing of the whole body of a supermodel. But over the months, the student will be able to slowly increase the amount of energy it uses, and its strikes will become more effective.

Hardness - heavy bags are dense, but are generally fairly mild. This softness helps absorb some of the impact of the strike. In fact, a very high strike often causes a heavy bag to fold on itself for a moment that the hand of the martial artist or foot appears to be go in the bag. Wooden Dummies are difficult. They are made of wood. There is no "give". It's good for the arms and legs, that simulate and attackers arms and legs (which are also hard), punched the body is slightly less realistic than with a heavy bag because there is no softness. In fact, you can actually hurt your hand by punching a dummy too hard wood bodies until you are ready. To counter this, some people will wrap a clean cloth around the body to provide a little "filler". This allows the strikes more difficult to be delivered with a reduction of the risk of injury to the martial artist.

Blocking techniques - a heavy bag is not very helpful when it comes to blocking, as it is the only thing you can really do deliver strikes it. A mannequin in wood, on the other hand, has the arms and legs that can be used for the practice of blocking. Many of the Wing Chun techniques involve simultaneous blocking and deletion, and they can be trained on the dummy wooden; blocks with a hand against one of the arms of the manikin while the other hand offers a strike to his body. It simulates a situation with a real opponent where it is going to be real physical feedback when you block their attack and is therefore a more realistic scenario of training.
